DICENTRA AND FRIENDS – helping children from Home for children „Klasje“.

Through this article we want to introduce you with our firends, the children from Home for children „Klasje“.

Home for children „Klasje“ is situated in Osijek town at two locations - Ružina and Zagrebačka street. At this moment there are 100 children, 60 in Ružina street and 40 in Zagrebačka street.
In Home for children „Klasje“ all the children without proper parental care have found home.
„Klasje“ employees are trying daily to provide them love and safety of family home. They are really doing their best.
In conversation with Home manager we found out that they need adaptaion of existing parquet at Zagrebačka street because it is in pretty bad shape.
We decided to react one more time and secure our new friends comfortable living space.
Home for children „Klasje“ has entered our life during our participation in project „Entrepreneus for children“. For those who don't know Center for enterpreneurship Osijek applied this project on 15th October 2008 to compete for Humanitarian phone. Funds were collected trough humanitarian phone 060 9002 and gyro account in period from 1st December 2008 - 28th December 2008.
Results were great. Trough humanitarian phone financial donation and donation in products were total of 131.557,30 kn.
Besides money contribution following things were secured:
- theater Christmas play for children and Christmas gift packets,
- Phillips company donation - home movie,
- Samsung company donation - Photo accessories as donation,
- Laptop,
- Various of products donated by Kika company,
- Food products,
- Their guest in STV show where they talked about problems in Home „Klasje“.
Regarding great results of action Entrepreneus for children we decided to find new big friends who will help our small friends and secure them better living space.
It's our pleasure to inform you that respons was huge and that we have started with parquet adaptation in Zagrebačka street. Total value of action is 150.000,00 kn.
Adaptation includes:
- Baby section – preparing floor, grinding and varnishing existing parquet,
- Mother section –preparing floor, grinding and varnishing existing parquet,
- Pre-school section – preparing floor and placing new parquet,
- Men section –preparing floor and placing new parquet
- Women section – preparing floor and placing new parquet.
We want to thank our new big friends for their positive response and help.

Next year we plan to renovate parquet in Ružina street. We appeal people of goodwill to join this action and help our new friends.
We hope that this small gesture will put one more smile on the face of each child from Home for children „Klasje“.
